For me, a middle school teacher, there are no more things that I want to teach my students in an interesting and fun way that doesn’t drain me. Canva is a total game-changer in my classroom!
Here’s how this magic design tool works out for the middle-school teacher:
Creative Projects for Students
With Canva, my students can do anything they want — digital posters, presentations, infographics, even video projects. They like the freedom to improvise with the design and I love seeing them translate in a way that I would never have thought possible.
Time-Saving for Teachers
Need a quick classroom poster, parent magazine, or presentation? You’ll have professional-looking content from Canva in minutes with its pre-built templates and drag-and-drop functions. And it’s saved me a ton of time on those hectic weeks when time is short.
Building 21st-Century Skills
Not only is it fun to use Canva, it’s also giving my students digital literacy. They’re learning to design for impact, to be mindful of design and colour, and to develop content that gets across. They are things they will take with them into the future.
Collaboration in the Classroom
With Canva’s group features, group projects are a breeze. Students can collaborate with each other as they design their designs in real time and it creates collaboration and shared accountability.
Affordable for Schools
Canva for Education is free to use for educators and students so we have the premium tools we need without breaking the bank. It was easy to get verfied and get instant free access for myself and my students.
Whether we’re designing online posters for a robotics competition, or designing artwork for classroom presentations, learning is fun, engaging and current using Canva. It’s also what keeps me organized and productive in the many hats we all wear as teachers.
Did you try Canva in the classroom? Believe me, your middle schoolers will enjoy it as much as mine do!
